Chicken

Little Bear got some shredded chicken today. He was totally uninterested. I had to hold some up to his mouth to even get him to take a bite. Maybe it was too bland? I'm going to give him some with a little seasoning tomorrow.

Feeling it out.

Another thumbs up! ha!

Neat fangs!

Spaghetti Squash

For the most part Little Bear has been getting food lately that he's already had. We've been reintroducing things he didn't like to see if he will eat them now. Either that or I've been too lazy to make him something. Yesterday I gave him some spaghetti squash from our lunch. He was very unimpressed. He had a fun time playing in it but I don't know if he really even ate anything.

Disgusted at what I've given him.

I guess I can try it.

I don't like it, it makes me angry!

Hahaah this cracked me up! Accidental thumbs up!

I have some chicken in the crock pot right now to shred. His first meat! I hope he likes it.

Green Bell Pepper

Today for dinner Little Bear got a scrambled yolk, some leftover pear/pea pouch and green bell pepper. We were at grandma's and I didn't have any healthy cooking oil so I just threw some strips in a non stick pan on the stove. They softened up okay and he sucked on the strips and took a few bites. He didn't seem to impressed but not disgusted either. Didn't get pictures but plan on offering them again this week so I'll try then for some pics.

This morning we revisited avocado. He seemed to like it this time! I think it was a little over ripe because it was way squishy. He made quite a mess. Even his diaper cover needed changed. He looked very proud.

Did I do something bad?

Pear/Pea Pouch

I generally don't want to give Little Bear purees but thought a pouch would be good for when we're out. I found some organic ones and gave him a pouch of peas and pears yesterday. He can't really eat it himself so it was me squeezing it in his mouth then just making a pile and giving him a spoon. He likes it so yay for sneaking in a veggie! No pics.

Egg Yolk

The white part of an egg is the allergen and it's fine to give babies the yolk generally starting between 6-7 months. Sunday I scrambled a yolk and gave that to Little Bear as well as a piece of toast an apple sauce. The little piggy ate almost everything!

So much yummy food.

Focused.

All done mom!

We also broke some rules pretty bad. I picked a basil leaf off our plant the same day and let him chew on it. Then later he kept trying to get my lemon so I squeezed off some juice and let  him taste. He loved it! No sour face or anything, kept going back for more. So 3 new foods in one day. A no no but he was fine with everything.

P.S. Cute new high chair? Thanks grandma.

Pear

Pear is a big hit. Little Bear has had it a few times now, mostly when we're out because it's easy to pack. He takes good sized bites and just gums it all up. He's such a fruit baby. I don't have any pictures :( maybe I will get some soon of him eating it!

Apple

So I'm getting way behind on these. On the 14th we went to the park with grandma, and I packed an apple for a snack. I figured it'd be a nice easy new food to try. I got the peel off one area and handed it to Little Bear. At first he had a little trouble holding it, but he figured it out pretty quick.
Hey this is sweet.

I like it!

Oh I can lift it up great!

He liked it pretty well and has had some apple since then! I don't give him chunks because he would probably bite off a big piece and it's easier to give him the whole thing!

Strawberry

I don't have any pictures of Little Bear eating a strawberry. He and Papa Bear were playing on the floor yesterday while I was chopping up fruit for smoothies, and he started getting fussy so I handed over a strawberry. Papa Bear actually held the fruit for him to eat but he went crazy for it. They were pretty sweet so I bet it was a great treat! No rash or anything so I think we're good with no strawberry allergy! Maybe he'll eat one again sometime soon and I can get a picture then.

Pancakes

Sunday we tried pancakes. I found a recipe that only used flour, baking soda, water and apple sauce. I tasted one and it just tasted like flour to me... it was disgusting. I don't know if I'll make them that way again. But Little Bear seemed to like it okay. He mostly squished them and made a mess but he did eat some. My camera is out of commission so I'll have to see if I got any decent picture from Papa Bear's phone.

Corn

Last night Papa Bear boiled some corn on the cob, then cut one in half and gave it to Little Bear. He had a little trouble picking it up at first so we handed it to him and he went to town. He absolutely loved it! Finally, a veggie my little fruit lover will eat. I'm sure I'll be seeing this in his diaper..

Reexamining the corn. You can see he already ate some.

This is really good!

I got this, no help needed.

So glad he liked the corn! It was such an easy food. I found a pancake recipe with no eggs or milk that I'm going to try next. He is always eyeing our pancakes!

Carrot

I steamed some carrots for Little Bear today along with some broccoli. At this point he's getting toast with apple sauce, or just apple sauce, every day when he wakes up from his morning nap. Unless Mama and Papa Bear are lazy. Today I wanted to give him dinner too. He wasn't fond of the carrots at all and broccoli was still a flop. I'll keep offering them and he's bound to eat them eventually... right?

I don't remember liking this green stuff...

This orange stuff isn't much better.

Messy!

Apple sauce to wash down yucky veggies.

Well, he was happy to get apple sauce at least.

Nectarine

Sunday I went to get a pear and the store didn't have any, so I ended up with a nectarine. Little Bear immediately took to his nectarine. It was slippery and hard for him to hold but he went to town on it! I left some skin on to help him get a better grip, and I helped him hold it some.

I love this!

Mmm juicy.

He also got a banana.

He really enjoyed the banana this time!

Well the boy seems to like his fruits. Hope we can get him to like veggies just as much.
